Thou Shalt Run

A brief synopsis is overdue.

Lofty goals have given way to one pure purpose: the simple (if difficult) task of running a marathon every month for a year.

Here are the results thus far:

  • Practice Run #1:
    • Saturday May 6th, 2017
    • 3:44:21 (8:33/mile)
    • My 3rd marathon or longer run ever and personal best time
  • runTired Marathon #1:
  • runTired Marathon #2:
    • Saturday July 9th, 2017
    • 4:44:19 (approx 10:50/mile)
    • 5th marathon or longer and personal worst time! The first three miles my GPS wasn't on, but I started out WAY faster than I should have and it about killed me. Additionally, I failed to put in adequate mileage between June's run and this one. I have learned some of my body's limits!

Hark Into the Void

I sincerely desired the idea of a running club or group or some sort of organization organized with talent trees stat pools achievements courses course records and the immortality of clever ideas personified in real life.

Briefly. And with less intensity as less interest was garnered.

This obsession has drifted into a meddlesome vapor lacking even the nostalgic heart-flutter of some like-minded cigarette smoke.

The running will continue and I'll surely run with others but all I truly desire is the exertion of the act itself.

And man oh man when the run is long the run is good.
